We've been to Babbo twice and have liked it even more the 2nd time around. Sorry to hear about the most recent experience but I imagine the food was still great. Getting ready to make a reservation 1 mth out gets my anxiety going as I'm ready to hang up and hit redial, determined to get through the busy signal. Its quite the ordeal but well worth it when you are enjoying one of the best meals ever.
We've actually been late (gasp) once and will never do it again. We had to wait another 1.5 hrs for a table to become available for them to fit us in.
There are also walk in spots (I think 3 tables) downstairs if you come without a reservation but chances arent good let alone the ambiance upstairs is much nicer.
