A natural, biodynamic and organic wine. A blend of Carignan (80%) and Grenache (20%). Vibrant and dark purple in color. Stewed fruit, cherry, mineral and a little bit of barnyard on the nose — it’s odd as the nose brings to mind some very old memories from when I was a kid — and it has something to do with a barn or a well (well water, iron and watercress?). Lots of personality and a bit of funk.
A bit more approachable on the palate — it shows some cherry, stone, stewed fruit and plum. Not overly complex — unpretentious, but not simple. This is a versatile and nice wine, and a very nice food wine — not to mention a very good value at $10-12 dollars a bottle.
